Conversations for Change

About Conversations for Change

NCWIT Conversations for Change: an online thought leadership series (ncwit.org/program/conversations-for-change/) invites you to become fully immersed in Q&A sessions, research-based recommendations, and peer-to-peer discussions that aim to further efforts in creating inclusive cultures.

My Role

  • Formulated new opportunities to foster an online community of engagement.
  • Assisted the CTO and event producer with broadcast management across Zoom, YouTube, and the livestream webpage.
  • Wrote and edited promotional copy for web, social media, and emails.

2020 Deliverables (View a sampling below.)

  • A microsite, which was viewed three times more than the 2019 microsite, included an agenda webpage with Zoom registration details, a speakers webpage with biographies and headshots, and a livestream.
  • several supplemental online activities: a book club, shareable downloads, and a Modern Figures Podcast Twitter Chat, co-produced with the Institute for African-American Mentoring in Computing Sciences (iAAMCS)
  • 29 emails were distributed to more than 15,000 subscribers with an average open rate that exceeded the 25-percent benchmark for the non-profit industry, including a Save the Date announcement, daily and weekly registration reminders, and wrap-up messages with next steps
  • A series of social media posts were shared across Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn for each event with the potential to reach more than 75,000 followers.
  • a new YouTube playlist on the NCWIT channel
